Oral Fluid Analysis
Oral fluid analysis provides evidence of immediate past drug use because it actually detects the presence of drugs in a person's saliva. Advantages include a detection window that will most likely tell you if a person is under the influence at the time of testing. Disadvantages include a relatively short detection window, generally 1-4 hours. Oral fluid analysis detects NIDA 5 drug panel (marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and PCP) which represent the most common drugs requested by employers for workplace drug testing, as well as barbiturates, methamphetamine, ecstasy, benzodiazepines and methadone.

the "NIDA-5" drug panel (marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, amphetamines) use the donor-friendly collection pad to collect the oral sample and send it to the laboratory for "next-day" reporting on negative results and 72 hours for confirmed positives.
