Quality Assurance Program
A-Check America utilizes laboratories that have established a Quality Assurance Program which surpasses stringent federal government standards for drug testing laboratories. To prevent instrument errors, every screening contains at least two blind proficiency controls, and one known control, for every ten specimens. This procedure, known internally as 'salting', assures consistent accuracy by contributing a known 'positive' specimen which must be returned as a 'positive' by the laboratory to protect against erroneous reports.
To prevent human error, the donor's data is entered independently by two different technicians into our computer systems. Bar-coding specimen and chain-of-custody documentation eliminates transposition errors as the specimen moves through the analytical process.
Our laboratories are all S.A.M.H.S.A. (Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration) and NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) certified.
