A-Check Staff Data Access and Security Practices
A-Check's efforts to secure information from internal security lapses begin with a highly selective hiring process. All A-Check employees must pass a background screen, undergo extensive training on proper handling of sensitive information and sign a confidentiality agreement to safeguard customer data. Applicants undergo a series of processes designed to ensure only the most qualified, trustworthy applicants are chosen, including:
- Aptitude and skills testing.
- Comprehensive background check and drug test.
- Screening for character and behavior tendencies (MERIT Profile).
- Minimum of four weeks best industry practices and position-specific training.
- Experienced mentor assigned to new hires.
After an applicant comes onboard, the following security measures are in place to ensure compliance with corporate information security guidelines:
- New hire agrees, in writing, to abide by A-Check's data and security policies.
- Staff computer and telephone activity monitoring by management.
- A-Check's internal system uses tiered access and privilege levels.
- Limited access to information – employees can only access the limited portion of a request they are working on, to enter data and communicate with the client via client log notes. Unauthorized staff cannot access a complete report, or access client account information.
- All computer terminals are User Name and Password protected.
- Staff may not leave premises with any work-related materials.
- High resolution cameras monitor and record events in the server room, in entrances and outside areas.
When an employee separates form the company immediate steps are taken to secure data:
- Computer terminal access is immediately revoked.
- Facility access card is immediately revoked.
- From the time an employee is notified of their separation until they depart the premises, a member of management is responsible for escorting them.
- An exit interview is conducted.
